Originally planning to be an illustrator, BRIAN KELLY HAHN instead earned a BFA in Photography from the Kansas City Art Institute, even though he spent more time building cameras and mechanical sculptures than taking actual photographs. His circuitous work history has had stops as Photographer, set painter, model maker, carpenter, artist's assistant, mechanical effects machinist and web designer, among others. After working thirteen years in special effects on such films as Iron Man and The Dark Knight, Brian "escaped L.A. to Portland" in 2010 and now heads the Mechanical Fabrication department.
His long list of credits dates back to 1998 and includes work on: The Boxtrolls, ParaNorman, Inception, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Departed, Seabiscuit, The Good Shepherd and The Man Who Wasn't There.
Random Fact: "My wedding ring is a miniature zoetrope. The animation on it creates an infinity symbol."
