ANTHONY STACCHI, co-director of LAIKA's 2014 hit feature film The Boxtrolls, joined the studio in 2007 from Sony Pictures Animation after co-directing the CG hit Open Season. Before Sony, he worked as a Head of Story, Storyboard Artist and Animator at PDI/DreamWorks, Industrial Light and Magic and Skellington Productions on projects including Antz, Spirit, James and the Giant Peach, Frankenstein and Curious George. The Boxtrolls received multiple awards and nominations, including Oscar®, Golden Globe, BAFTA, and PGA nominations for Outstanding Animated Feature Film. The film won two Annies® (Production Design and Best Achievement in Voice Acting for Ben Kingsley) and was honored with 11 Annie nominations. A graduate of the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), Tony began his career as a Commercial Director at Colossal Pictures as a Character and Effects Animator on Aeon Flux, The Rocketeer, Hook and Back to the Future, among others.
